Booster Controller Range Enhanced!!
ok guys,
Today i just got my new shipment, a booster set, controller, 3.0, and a supra. subaru body kits.i noticed the range on the booster SUKED! so i though about lengthening the antenna. isaw mods wit telescopic antennas but that impedes the disign of the controller being "pocket sized". Beacause i intend on racing at skool and wit a huge telescopic antenna sticking out of my pocket it mite just look wierd. "note Just a Tad wierd.."
so i got my old 27mhz controller that has a huetungous antenna and put it on my booster. (EXPERIENCED USERS ONLY!!) it requiers cutting....more cutting....fitting...basically ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS. but it pays off wit at least 20 feet and thats in my apartment wit like walls that are lik 5 feet close.....So EXPERIENCED well scracth that....EXPERT USERS ONLY!!!!! plz dont start spamming me and sending me emails saying "WHAT THE F**** U MESSED UP MY CONTROLLER U SOB! cuz i said EXPERTS only!!!!
Regards,
Alex

Cool, thanks for the tip i should of thought of that before. HOWEVER, you can get a folding telescopic antenna, similar to mines, and it still portable. I get quite a range with it compared to what i originall got. im going to attach a pic.

Oh about that, when i race at school i have a little tackle box that can just hold my external charger, car, controller, screw driver, and an extra motor. But i gotta be careful cuz my car is turbo charged, and sooner or later will be replaced with an electric nitrous+turbo car(dual batteries plus boost button :P). My cars hard to beat at school cuz the most mods people do is a 3.0 and new gears or tires. No one goes in and fixes their electronics like i do.

thanks. well i went to my local radio shack and bought the antenna with an L shape, so it bends, plus it has extra holes for mounting or swapping. And your gonna read some round toungue terminals, the ones for screwing on. and some small wire, like 22 gauge or something like speaker wire, and a soldering iron, and of course, solder.
first thing i did was unscrew the antenna off the "L", adn then mounted it onto the end of the long part of the "L".
I dont think u need to take off your original antenna, but i didnt think of that before hand. So u can leave that there.
Now u need want to sand or file a space from the crack to the top of the 27, so your "L" can fit into it later. Or sand it to be able to fit the type of antenna u purchase.
I then took an extra screw from my RC 1/10 scale(i think it was a motor mount), and used it to screw in the extra spot hole, but since theres no where for it to go thru, i have it go along the plastic to make its own ridge. Use this screw later for the ring toungue.
Now i took that wire and i put the ring on one end. I then soldered the other end to the dab of solder already on the antenna plate with a yellow wire. *DONT USE A HUGE WIRE FOR THIS. YOUR CAR WILL BE F'D UP IF U USE A BIG WIRE.
Screw that ring on to where you made that ridge. make sure its tight so it makes contact
Now you just put the control back together.
Be careful with this stuff and ask questions as you go, cuz i dont want anyone mad at me if they mess up their control like i did. Now mine is fixed, but its only fized cuz i did what i sed above.
