Exclamation General Lee !!

i dont have all the decals printed yet... and this is not my final body on this car. this was just a test body. (about 3mm to long. thats why the tab on the front was extended). the rest of these bodys will be the right length thou. along side is a 1977 bmw320i turbo that raced leMans. and an unpainted Porsche 911.

Your molds are perfect but you could use some help on painting and cutting...
My advise(dont get it worng)is to use masks for windows and decals for lights...
After that try cutting using some small coins...
And one last things try to cut also the other left overs(front, rear) even use some putty to bring the body to its original form...

Anyway I love the PORSCHE

well its not cut to the final dimensions yet. thats something thats something im not doing till i finish painting it. i know i should use masks, and i did for the windsheild, but not the rest of the windows. this body will probabllly be trashed as i have about 6 more sitting here. it was more or less a practice body.. as for the original form, where does it need it? maybe im not reading your post right. if you could post back and be a little more specific where you think it needs something so i can fix it

for the masks i just finally got some liquid masking fluid.. which i will be using on the rest of my paint jobs, i was using just some crappy masking tape which dosent allow you to do curves very well... also cutting cannot really be done with an exacto knife, i tried on one of the bodys and . need to use small scissors. i have tried the small coin (dime) but its too big. i find that you can use the end of a fat pen or some smaller markers work great for this. (just trace out the WW and then cut along the line.

on other thing. this was a white plastic body. the clear plastic bodys will be much better looking and are easier to cut than this plastic. the only thing i need now is some silver/chrome paint. for bumpers/gas cap/trim etc.

also with this plastic you cannot really use a soldering iron to make holes in it as heat will really make it change form. so for the front and rear holes i did use an exacto knife. its easier to cut straight lines with it.

the hole for the antenna (not shown) was made by taking a regular razor blade and just kinda screwing it (the point) into the body where i wanted it. as i said befor a soldering iron tip will do some serious dammage..

thanks for the comments keep them coming.
just wait for the ferrari 250 gto!!

What I mentoned about the form is that in the place that sideskirts, and bumpers should be you can clearly see that it's the end of the mold...There are 2 cases:
1:You should cut them a bit more and then shape them like they should by by putty or
2:Change the way you make your molds.I'm not sure but what it's propably the problem is that you must use some kind of material(the one you use for the top of the mold) in the bottom in order not your plastic to go there...I don't know if you can understand what I describe to you...

Now for the paint I really blieve that good quality tape mask is better than liquid bt anyway is what you like more...
What you should might think is to use some decals for detailing! For things like the front-rear lights, graphics e.t.c.

Now on the crome thing I don't believe that crome paint in spray can will help a lot what I recomned is Alcad(the best chrome in spray can(the best chrome in spray can) or bare metal foil(most modelers use it)...

Hope I helped you....
Keep up the good work!

ok, yea i got ya. it looks a lot better when the body is completely trimmed. i also agree on the front bumper, and it has been fixed on the mold for the second run, the rear bumper is already in place on the mold, but is hard to see because of lighting and the fact that it is all orange. the sideskirts do look a bit flared now, and that has also been fixed. this plastic is thicker and would not form to the bottom of the mold.

for tape.. well i have had no luck at all with tape and the curves needed. the liquid seems to be working pretty good. although i did intend on doing the details with waterslide decals... when i get the paper i will.

well chrome. i have thought about that rub on stuff, but when asking aoubt it in the craft store, the lady told me that you will only see it on the side that you rub from.. and in the case of the clear bodys, that would be from the bottom. so the rub on stuff wont work. i stopped at the hobby store again and talked to one of the wokers there and they showed me a paint that would work,, but it was 10 bucks for a bottle not much bigger than a bottle of nail polish, and it had to be airbrushed. i dont have an airbrush. but they had samples of all the paints on desplay and what they looked like when used, which was very helpful. i will look for that ALCAD paint. where should i be able to find it?

sweet thanks for the tips!!!
