I can't really tell the difference, except for the fact that the CF driveshafts are not bent like the stock ones tend to be, so they should cause less drivetrain loss.

Hey, neuro, in your custom wound motor, how many windings did you put in the motor? Did you use Neo magnets? Also, with the 6-cell, what type of batteries did you use? Sorry, but this is interesting stuff you got there!

I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that this post was made when he had the Team Orion 180 motor with 10winds removed from each leg.

This was with a hand-wound 30 turn 180, and six IC3s. There are no Neo magnets available for 180 cans, unfortunately, unless I wanted to try to retro-fit something from the 130.

Right up at the top of the page, they sell them here. Not every stock driveshaft is bent, but both of my RSXs had slightly bent driveshafts. You couldn't se it by looking, but if you rolled it on a table, or stuck it into a drill and spun it, it was obvious.

Where do you buy those motors anyways? And with those 30 turns, do you need to install FETs?

That's going to draw a lot, are you sure it won't be too much for the FET's?

I buy them locally at Hobbytown. The 30 turn 180 motor actually has a pretty low current draw, so no FETs are needed. It is low because 30 turns on a 180 armature uses about as much wire as 60 turns on a 130 arm...

Ahh.....so, basically, If you rewired it to 15 turns, it would still be okay? Cool!

Thanks a LOT, neurokinetik.

And, BTW, neuro.....

Were you recording that with a digital camera? If so, then did you record it on the memory card? If no, then how did you manage to get it on the computer?

I lost to a bunch of 4th graders! My car was sputtering, and they were running, and they had about 5 feet 3/4 through the race. By the end, I took up 3 feet. With enough room, I coulda' taken them. I spun out, hit rocks, threw a tire on 2 occasions, and fliped over once. The road was littered with debris. I just fried another recevier board, , so it's time to buy some new stuff. I am also hearing about Stage 3 motors coming out soon. I also lightened the boady tonight. I cut off a lot of plastic on the mounts, and took off every piece I could. Any chance of RS making domestic bodies? I HATE IMPORTS! I'm about ready to make my own body. Anyway, I guess I cna't film any vids for a couple of weeks...
