project - 56 pickup...
ok, heres my next project... a 56 pickup with these fatty wheels. i was thinking about making it a flat bed. but i think this looks pretty dang good this way!!

That's not vac molded is it? Looks like a nice resin job. I think those wheels are too big for it (the rims are great), but I really like the body.

Nope thats not a vac mold. im gonna attempt a vac mold with it.. and id like to do a resin mold too. but i just have to figure out how to do it.. a vac mold of this can be done, but to make it vac moldable with the materials i have i will have to put a tuneau cover on the back of it.. maybe a small piece of canvas... or cloth painted black or something..
as for the tires, they will work with some mods to the chassis.. basically i will have to lengthen the axles.. and then mount the body on posts...

Nice truck!
Doesn't even look like it needs that much trimmming to make it work. That will definitely be a cool one, it's there now!

ive already did all the triming/puttying/shaving necessary. i just need to mold it to put it on my car...

all of the equipment is at work. supplies are ordered through one of the companys distributors.. not really sure. i just tell them what i want and they get it (i have to pay for it if its not work related).

cool what kinda molds do you use? silicone, latex, rubber... and what brands of resin are you using.. i stopped by the TAP plastics today and they can set me up with everything i need to make molds for under 20 bucks.. i still havent decided if im gonna do it yet. i have to wait till friday as im broke right now.

I use silicone rubber to make the mold and liquid plastic to make the cast .
