I need some opinions.

I'm building a monster bit with 4 bats and 2 a10 rocket engines.
I wanna know what you guys think about steering.
I'm 50/50 on having any type of steering but I also wanna use the car as a 4cell dragster when I don't have any rocket engines.
So, steering= YES or NO

I've also taken into account the distance this bit will travel and the range issues, but I have a lil remedy for that.

Do you have a link or pics of these rocket engines?

Do they break any UN resolutions?

Here's the chassis, or the beginings of it, beside the rocket and the rocket holders.

Don't worry about the steering. Or have a way to lock the wheels when using the rocket. Don't try to steer it with the rocket ignited.

How are you going to keep the rocket from melting the chassis? I held a heat gun 5 feet away from one of mine (to dry the paint) and it warped it in less then a second.

You must take video of this thing when you're thru!!

The tubes that are gonna hold the rockets will be well insulated and they are gonna be atleast 2 inches away from the body. the majority of the heat produced is going to be shooting towards the rear and away from the car.
I strapped one of these tubes to a zip and the thing exploded. I used a larger engine and basically twist tied it to the top of the car. I used the reverse to ignite the rocket and it screamed all over the place i don't think it touched the ground once while the rocket was bursting. The car (or i should say what was left of it) finally shattered when the (I dunno the tech term so bare with me) the other end that ejects the parachute burst. I was somewhat tipsy when I did this but i still learned a few things and sacrificed a zip doing it. I just wish I had my camera handy

It's gonna be ignited remotely. I'm planning to use another pcb for the ignition. I have one of those TRU key rc cars with the remote the size of a keychain.

I hate to be a party pooper, but 1 run and the car will be trash. That rocket will send that car 100 or 200 feet as to where the best range I've ever heard of in a bit is 50. If I were you I stick to the 4 cells.

If I only get 1 run then so be it. I just wanna see a rocket powered bit. As for the range, I got a simple remedy. I will walk towards it until i'm in range. the only thing I'm worried about is it crashing into something and shatering. I may never run it and just keep it around as an oddity. The fun for me is in the building of the car.

It doesnt even matter if you dont crash into anything... It will tumble and spin and likely fly up. If you are really gonna do this, use a long wire and eyehooks or something to guide it. Depending on how smooth your surface is, you may want larger wheels. PS. since the idea of r/c is to be able to control something, and this thing doesnt have a bit (pun.. haha) of hope as far as control, why dont you just make a non-rc rocket car. I promise its just as cool if not cooler, cuz you actually have a dim chance of running a purpose-built rocket car again. I say all of this from experience. I was younger once, and fascinated by rediculous power, I made rockets and rocket cars, but it can get you hurt (my friend nearly lost his thumb), and theres no need to destroy a perfectly good bit.

my bad i see that you are older than me.... hmmm...

If I were you I'd just strap a rocket to a matchbox car.
