it's no secret, its all in the torque/power of the motor. Unloaded, the motor may spin 28,000 RPMs but is it powerful enough to put those RPM's to use when installed in a car and loaded with weight? If it can't pull the car as good, it won't be as fast. So our 2.8 does a good job of transferring power to the ground-where it counts
Ok, so maybe I lied a little. We have our ways of increasing the output of motors from experience in the RC field. Some motors respond better than others, but make no mistake... Stick to the original DKS motors, no matter how identical and how exact another company's motor looks like to ours, IT IS NOT, The casings and caps may look the same (maybe sourced from the same place) but don't be fooled. Just run even our 2.4 against a Tomy 2.6 and you will see that it is indeed as fast or quicker.
The reason I say this is because I have gotten letters about people buying "3.4 darkside" only for me to find out it is a look alike. If it doesn't come in a full color packet that has our logo, it is fake! We do source to other resellers ( www.gotstuffs.com is one of our resellers, they are not fake), but they ship with full packing, so if you don't receive a motor with our logo and it is sold as a DKS motor, please let me know!
