me an TheFanMan did it to an RX7...looked like crap but thats because we were just playing around. The only problem with convertiables is that the PCB is completely exposed, and i personally dont think it looks too good.

You can always try a Dremel. You have to find a nice cutting disc and a nice sanding disc to smooth edges. I'm not really into the onvertable look, i don't like the way the car looks with the PCB in the open looks likes somthing is missing (like the interior!!!).

I used a dremel with a conical burr. This is what a burr is.
It can easily melt the plastic, so take it slow. A heated Xacto was too messy, IMO. I did use an Xacto blade to scrape down the edges to make them smooth after dremelling.
For the PCB, I painted it black, and cut holes in it to fit some seats I removed from a Hotwheels interior donor. I glued the seats in the hole I removed from the PCB (the hole is the same size as the bottom of the seats). I glued the dash and steering wheel to the PCB, and I had at one point glued the backseat (subs, actually lol) to the body.

Here's a pic of the PCB, but the backseat wasn't glued on the body for this pic, I removed it when I was painting the body. But I screwed up the body while stripping it. I need to replace it and glue the back onto the new body.
Granted, these are ZZ pics, since bits are smaller, you may need to do things a little differently.

Thanks guys, after thinking about it, I might not do it b/c of the pcb. But the one with the dash and seats looks sweet.

I guess char-g does make a convertible - the Mach 5. once we see one up close we could see how they mold it so there is still room to do mods inside, etc. it would be a shame to chop a car to find out there was no room for anything.
