Recomendations Aftermarket reciever, ESC, and servo
Hi. Im thinking about getting one of these evolution xmods and
Im wondering if anyone recommends any FM 2 channel receiver,
speed controller, servo, and battery.
I plan to change out the stock electronics for hobby quality electronics.
edit: oops. i placed this thread in the wrong catagory. it should be
in the Hop-up and Parts section

Though not in an XMOD, I have had luck running a Team Orion Flash Micro ESC in a 1:25 project. It's designed for a Micro RS4, so it is designed to handle a 380-sized motor and up to 7.2 V.

Well, I've changed out everything on an original XMOD and I was quite satisfied with this setup:
ESC: Novak SPY
RX: GWS 75MHz 4ch (P/N: R-4PII/H)
Servo: HS-55
TX: Hitec Aggressor SRX
Batteries: 2x AA lithium ions
Motor: atomicmods.com Fatboy
These really are the smallest parts I could possibly find. There was so little room in the car, even with the carbon fiber chassis from ProductZero/TinyRC.com, that I had to dremel out the inside, a little bit of the front window to access the ESC button, and a small hole in the side door for the power switch. I'm not sure how much clearance there is in the stock Evo body though. I am going to do this again on an H2 truck so there will be plenty of room. Also, there's some sweet li-ion battery packs on atomicmods.com for the evo. They will fit a lot better than the AA ones.
Here's some pics of my sweet ride:

I have a HS-55 w/ servo saver, novak spy, airtonics FM rec, fat boy motor, li poly packs on my EVO.
parts are all still in the original cases.
I need a new chassis to finish it off. Right now the wires are ugly but i am waiting for a new chassis before i cut and solder them to look pretty.
and it all fits under the G-35 body i have.

BEWARE the wiring is UGLY! I dont want to shorten stuff till i get a chassis
If you look at the roof scoop i made you can see the spy in it. The body is still in RUFF condition.
I did have this running but i didnt have the tires glued on. so they were flying everywhere.
The novak wil sit LOWER then it is now. when i am done because right now i am using some really thick velcro to hold them in place. I need some really thin double sided tape and i should beable to lower he whole deal about oh almost 1/4" for a smoother fit. This does fit WITHOUT the roof scoop and when the wires are cleaned up.
WILL FIT LIKE BUTTER!
OH and i CAN use a hood. I have to use the G35 WILD hood which i am also working on now as well. NO MODS to hood just rounding out the scoop on the top side of hood.
VERY RUFF STILL

That is damn hot. How much did it cost? (If you don't mind me asking)

while taking a break from doing stuff to my EVO project, my PCB mysteriously went missing. I just want to know what I can do about this, get a new xmod, or just salvage the board out of another RC? Open for ideas, but remember, I'm on a buget here.
