Hey!
No Its Nod New I have done it lots of times. i yave one lowered car and one raised with Hotwheels Tyres because when i went to glue the lego tyres I accidentley glued the axles to the Lego wheel!( front)!!
So I used the hotwheels and banged them onto the metal Axle. LOL.
But yea i had to hack the chassic alittle bit. near the back. i had a pretty small!. You have to hack the back alittle so the wheels clear. The front You have to take the sover off and hack the corners. I will get pictures up of mine later. Any more help and just post! all the way.

What gearing, motor, and batteries are you using to push them heavy tires? My jeep accelerates kind of slow since I added my lego tires.

I have Never found a good truck body that achealy has the same wheelbase. I don't like lentheing the body or shortenening them, Didn;t turn out good lol!
Any i just took a old Civic body and rotary tooled it to fit. looks pretty nice i think( not done)
But you might have better luck. rember AI'm up in canada(FRIGGIN USA WON THE HUNOR CHAMPING SHIP!)( slacker canadians is the reason of course!) and its hard to find good bodys in the storezx up here where i am.
Jeep )CJ of courre) is my preference nad like U said, Dodge, Chevy, Nissan they are all asome. dual cell will help alot. might want to get it Mofset ed by microAMPS for the steering Mofset. It will help turn those big tyres. just My openion. Put Lego tyres on the blue gears( more torque to push the wheels)

SawBlade, use blue gears with like a Perfection 4.2 or the red motor. If u can order from www.toyeast.com any of the Perfection High Torque motors you should be fine. 200 mah batterie.

I just ordered a pair 1.2v 150mah NiMh batteries to stick in there, and I'm thinking about putting in a tiny neodymium magnet for strengthening the steering. That magnet has enough power to lift a 16oz (.454kg) hammer without assistance. I'll just need to shorten it a little for it to match the size of the stock magnet.

[Edit] Hey, then I can display the jeep by sticking it to the side of the refridgerator.

Exclamation

LOL To the regridgerater thing.
I would rather put in Earth Magnets but as I said before, I live in Canada and they don't have them. don't wanna ship because well, its just magnets! any way i would use the 200 mah batss because of the higher MAH.
But thats just my openion. 200 MAH would have better running time nad mabe a little moreOOMPH I think.

They're also larger too.

I finally took a picture of my jeep, but I still need to lift the body. It's just resting on the tires right now.

I'd like to know where to get a F-150 body too. The red truck in the magazine is my real truck.

SawBlade, THAT IS THE BEST LOOKING ZZ I HAVE EVER SEEN!
Up here in Canada we can't get the Jeep. i want one. LOL Nice looking rig. For the body you might have to visit the Wally-mart, Zellers ETCF. Look For it in the cheapy plactic brands so well, its plastic not diecast!. I like the look of that! LOL. I had troble puting my tyres(lego0 on the front rims, i kept glue'ing them to the metal axle accidentley. So i put on the other tyres. And the fact that we can't get the steering magets here in Canada(Krap!)
Any way, have fun!

I found the best way to attach the lego tires to the bare black wheels is to pop the white wheel out of the lego tire, put a very thin ring of glue around the inside of the black wheel and press the white wheel onto it.(it fits perfectly inside the edge of the black wheel) Once the glue dries, then you can push the lego tire back onto the wheel.
