Altezza Style Tailights

I made these for my RSX project, but I figured I would go ahead and share the love now.

I'm still not sure if I will use them or not.

What you need:

Zip Zaps Box
Masking Tape
X-acto Knife
Pen or Pencil
Dremel
Sanding File

First, you cut a chunk of the box out. I used the corner, because the tail light lenses on the RSX wrap around. The Skyline for example would be easier, because all you would do is cut out a circle and your done.

But, on with making them for the RSX...

Cut the chunk out...

Next, trace out your lenses on a piece of masking tape...

Cut out the masking tape template and tape it to the plastic. Position it so that the lense will bend in the correct spot...

Next, use the Dremel to cut out the shape. After that, you can use the file to shape it and clean up the edges....

Finally, pull the masking tape off and your done...

Once you attach them to the rear and stick the LED's thru, it will look like the real thing.

Here is what they would look like installed. Of course, you would have to paint the inside on the body silver (I'm waiting for the body to dry).

there is a easier method here. remove the taillight cover and using brake fluid remove the paint on the light cover. It'll take about five minutes.

You know, I was thinking before I did this, what I could use to just remove the coloring on the stock lenses. I didn't have anything laying around that I thought would work without clouding the plastic, so I just did this.

Plus, I wanted to keep the stock lenses the way they are just in case. I did'nt know how the euro look would turn out, and I didn't want to ruin my stock lenses and find out I didn't like it.

well the first try didn't work too well, i used nail polish remover and it clouded the plastic before i could rinse it. the second attempt was with brake fluid and a soft toothbrush. that second try came out perfectly. So between that and the destroyed body from a paintjob that went wrong, I think i need another rsx kit.

Nice, I'm gonna need to do this for my skyline. I took a nice header into the couch leg and cracked off the front light cover. I tried to glue it back on but it's all nasty looking.

Yes unfortunatly it was but I got the body kit painted (doesn't quite match though) and the only damage was the lens snaping off. I swear my heart stoped for a second though.
