Bunta's Vertical 2 cell
Hi folks,,
I was browsing around one day here when I was inspired by a thread I read describing a "no dremel" mod for 2 cells. The batteries were vertical, but the PCB was taped over the back. That's when my idea hit me, with only a little dremeling/sliceing, it's possible to mount the PCB in a very trick fashion.
So there you have it,, props to the modders who inspired this mod. (sorry I can't remember your names)
Instructions are at my website,, WWW below

Hey I'm glad you posted this, I just did an Internal Duel Cell mod, and now my steering is wacky, its locked turned right, because the battery attracts the steering magnet...how do you overcome that?

Hi,,
I think you have an un-intended connection between one of your steering wires and a battery lead,, it's not the magnet attracted to a battery.

Hey Folks,,
It has come to my attention that the links at the bottom of my instruction page are screwed up,, I fixed it now. There are 3 pages of instructions with a total of 9 big pics with text on them.
Also sorry about bandwidth limitations ,, I'm too cheap to pay for a homepage. So if you really want to see the instructions try back at the top of the hour.
Please excuse my mess

Hi Peeps,,
hogjowles.. YES! you were participating in the discussion that inspired me,, but I think it was the other dude's car (I can't find thread) that had 2 vertical cells,,
For you other mad modders out there,,,,,
If there are others out there who have some mad fabrication skills,, this vertical 2 cell mod can have interchangeable battery packs. All you have to do is make the charging contacts longer so they contact the batteries,, and make another metal contact for the top that holds the batteries down (by attaching to the front cover screw) and connects the 2 in series. This way all you have to do to change batteries is to loosen the front cover screw and remove the battery hold-down connector. Thus the batteries are not even subject to soldering, but for the PCB you still need some passable soldering skills.
(a future weekend mod,,,,,)
And thanks for everyone's kind words

Hi peeps,,
strakka,, The little plastic thingy that sticks up in the middle can be twisted off with some needle nose pliers. All you have to do is pinch the part that sticks up and twist off. The big square base is still there in my pics because you don't need to dremel it away. You can remove the big square base to make the batteries sit lower, but it's not a must do.

strakka,,,
The text you are wondering about says
"Notice the car's body has been modified at the following spots"
Unfortunately I can't fix it right now,,, this weekend perhaps.

Hey Bunta, could you show a pic of the batteries and the pcb, without the body on? It's kinda hard to see through it...
BTW, sweet mod!
