i think the first way is better, but the ultimate best is an internal duall cell which is what im attemtping as we speak (not actually but u know what i mean)

i mneant the wat where its coming out the back window

I put my second cell all over the place trying to avoid sticking both cells inside the chassis, but it's the only way to weight the car with a low center of gravity for racing around. Otherwise you just do spin outs and tip overs.

I agree.
I've tried both internal and external and with the speed increase, having the weight low is really important.

More work and hassle, but your car won't look like it's hauling a 55 gallon drum around when you're done!

k i've tried to do an internal many times (3) the first time i broke the steering wires, the second time the same thing, and the third time it worked but the cells were kinda still sticking out a little bit, is it just cuz im using stock cells and the fact that they are slightly larger t5han 150 mah cells? or is there something else im doing wrong?

How far is the battery sticking up out of the middle area?
From what I've seen, that shouldn't matter too much, you don't HAVE to have the circuit board in it's stock possition, most of the time, I see the board up a couple milimeters or set back a little.

I guess it just depends on how much room is in the body you are using.

i did the internal as well and would say its 100x better than the other one. it was not that hard to do either...

yo TT, how are you placing your cells in the chassis? laying down side by side or side by side standing up on end within the car? If side by side standing up, get the batteries pushed all the way forward or backward and simply place the pcb where it fits best, I flipped my pcb so that the pot and the big capacitor kind of nested where the batteries weren't then just crammed the body on.

batteries side by side laying down is the best-- lowest center of gravity but it takes some sculpting cutting some plastic in the bit to get them to fit, mostly cutting out the corners just before the rear wheel wells.

Not the easiest mod. but just disconnect everything from the PCB and get those steering wires out of the way or its premature death, although there is a way to make new steering coils-I've never succeeded in making them but worth a try.

i puit them vertically, (like the way the rear axle is) and the batts stick out, but i think its cuz im using stock clone cells, i heard 110 mah batts r smaller right? ium gonna try it again on my new car after i get my batteries from rcmod.

i did mine laying down with out a dremel also.. just a few cuts with the xacto.. and mine are not coming close to the rear wheels.. in fact they are not even sticking out of the chassis...

me too, wired it all up with sturdy solid cat 5 solid copper wire and that pcb isn't going anywhere (the wiring is so rigid without any of that original stranded stuff). just can't control the pow pow now. i'd say a serious steering mod is in order to make these dual cell cars controllable at high speeds.
