Colored Pen Tire Mods.
What brand name / type pens work the best. I picked a few up today, but they don't seem to be the right size.

I have the same problem as you, I tried to do that, but the grips weren't big enough to fit around the rim.

What you should do is go to walmarts and pick up a package of foam pencil grips. I think it was like $2 for a pack of 15 or 20. I'll put up some pics when I get home later.

i just found a pen laying around the house and i used the green rubber for my tires. it was a jimnie retractable pen and i i cut them kind of large then used a pernament marker to stretch the rubber so it would go over the rims. I have to say it was hard getting them on but man i love them. they slip but but i like it like that it like skids out only when i jsut charged it and it gets up pretty quick. The old tires i had on there were factory but i like the slip tires when i got back and reverse it slides it looks awesome.

i bought foam pen grips from staples, a 5 pack for 89 cents. i dind't attach it to a drill, spun it up, and sliced out a tire nor did i mark where i wanted to cut them so my tires look crappy, especially since i just kinda pressed my hobby knife down to cut it, but the foam compressed so its a bit uneven. anyway, the grip is sumwhere between medium stock bit tires and the orange kit racer tires (i dont have bit racer, ms, or bitcharg tire sets to compare to). i used it on a wheel mod where i glued wheels from an unused bitcharg axle and glued it to a zipzap axle without the hubs. it turned out to be great on carpet but it slips on my wooden table.

oh yeh, forgot to mention i had a hell of a time stretching those foam grips to fit the wheels. on one of them, i tried a bit too hard and it ripped. my tip is to have patience and gradually stretch them adn allow them to sorta get used to the new diameter before stretching more

I wouldn't even bother with the foam grip ones for a couple reasons.
1) They will slip once they get on the car.
2) They are too dam hard to get on.
3) They could rip when you are stretching them to make them fit on easier.
