Land Mine Temporary Danger?
I've experimented over the weekend with my new Sherman and Tiger. My "land mine technology" is rapidly evolving to be included in my battlefield design. The tanks can transit over a mine sometimes only once before a disruption and other times can go over the same mined area multiple times with ill effect. I am "mining" railroad tracks currently and bridges are in the near future. However, the "mining" is not for the faint of heart. Appears that after multiple mine encounters the motors are temporarily magnetically "scrambled". Steering and torque suffer for the remainder of the day and seem to return to almost normal the next day. Also, experienced a sympathetic mine explosion transmitted from my Tiger who hit the mine and then temporarily disabled my Sherman. Most interesting! At the time I thought my Tiger had short circuited, but thankfully smelled nothing. Great display of those "red fireworks"!
Am using magnets from magnetic picture frames (seem to work best for me). Will mine through an overlaid area as thick as a mousepad.
