Converting 1/64 to 1/24!

yup thats right

i have the back end of the back all planned out

i found a good motor, and gearing for it(pic attached)

i found everything i needed in my broken CD player

i just need to wire everything and mount it

thats not my problem, right now im trying to figure out how to come up with a steering system

im gonna use a 9V battery on that motor(just to let you guys know)

so im gonna need some help from you guys about the steering

i am in the process of mounting the axle and motor/gears

ill let you guys know how it turns out

hmmm for the steering i suggest that you go to IRC's site. they have great selection of micro steering servos so just ask IRC and he'll probly be able to answer your questions on them

Is this project for looks?

I mean there is no way that tiny motor or axle is near 1/24th scale (or its a bad pic).

You need atleast a 130 style motor to be competitive in 1/24th racing.

I'd like to see your designs and the process.

UPDATE!!!

i found a new motor, and it requires no gearing because the motor itself has provided me an axle that sticks out on both sides of the motor,

it spins so fast that the tires stretch and fly off

i have a 13mb vid if anyone wants to watch it

note: i tested it with a 9V battery, i am planning on using a 12V battery when im done with the car

does anyone know if the PCB will burn if 12V's run through it???

Again...at 12 volts and 1/24th scale you are going to have to leave behind everything bit related. You will need to get actual Electronics, ESC's, Rx's and servos to handle with the "big dogs".

1/24th sales is mighty tough an arena. And bit science is far from being applicable to larger scales.

yeah binarys rite theres noway pic electronics will run that car..... for the pcb i think that a epoch or a miniz will work

Even with a Epoch or a Mini-Z PCB you wont be able to run 9volts of higher.

To run those voltages you are going to need a costly ESC to handle just the volts

By the way, do you have better pics of that motor? where did it come from?

While the wheels spin fast, that configuration wont have much acceleration at all. You really will need to gear it down for decent performance. Instead of using bit stuff, go get a real 2ch radio (50~90), small airplane speed control (20~50), small servo (30), and a chassis.... O heck, just get a mini-X, its a decent looking car (i want one), and would be a good thing to start with. Btw... I think the mini-x comes with a motor like yours, with the shaft coming from both sides.

Yeah that is true about the Mini-X.

Also the Mini-X is 4wd which is amazing in such a tiny package! It is durable, fast as hell, multiple settings, and quite fun. Plus it will destroy Mini-Z's due to the traction is has.

I don't think we were trying to put you down, more or less we were trying to inform you how crude the Bit is because of its size.

Hell go ahead and have fun with the project, but i think you'll have more fun racing the DRR.

DRR is a dynamite rocket racer. They are 1/24th on road cars. nice and cheap!
