Layman tricell bit racer

Anybody tried a layman tricell bit racer? I'm going to make one, but I want to know the results of other people. Can I charge it with the normal Bit Racer charger?

I just got done building a 3 cell/ Perfection 3.8 motor. It's pretty darn fast. I haven't seen it at full speed yet. It keeps spinning out.

The controller can't charge a 3 cell. You will have to make a charging unit. There is a few threads that will show you how to make it.

A 3 minute charge gives me 4.29V of power. Just need to figure a way for it to go straight.

Do a search with the words, Charging Station. This should take you to that thread.

If you are familiar with HPI Micro RS4s, you can use the 4 AA battery harness as your power source for charging. Then all you have to do is solder on the charging piece.

When you say, Bit racer...are we talking about the non RC powered Bit?

Just curious.

Oh okay..That's what I thought. In that case, I think the charging pad is different for the racers than the Char-g RCs. You might want to double check that. If it doesn't match, purchase one of those Hotwheels K.I.T.s and rip the charging pad off of the one in that package.

I have 6 kit chargers and already ripped one apart. I can't figure out how to put it back together. I'm pretty sure I lost the parts. Now I can't figure out which wire goes to which metal tab thingy now because I can't figure out how the charger works. Anybody know how to wire a KIT Racer charging pad?
