It's very easy takes about ten minutes, I used an x-acto and followed the body lines, if you snap the tip off of the blade and cut with the backside it works like a score and cuts very fast. The hinge is just two rubberband pieces, the tension keeps it closed.

i am using a razor blade and it takes forever to cut all the way through and half the time it gets stuck in the car and then slides off and puts scratches in the hood and lights
any ideas

Like I said try an xacto knife, there much easier to control, and if you snap the tip off and use the backside it will dig right thru the plastic, also it's better to cut lightly and accurately then trying to cut it all the way thru.

I don't understand how you got the hood to stay down with rubberbands . Can you please explain how you did it.

I just glued them on, when the hood is opened it stretches them so they pull it closed, when you glue them you might want to stretch them just a little to keep the hood closed tight. It's a simple system but works quite well.

i found a razor blade in my closet one of those 1" ones not the retractable one which i was originally useing and the 1" one worked like a charm
