what is the purpose of this mod ? what difference does it make on the car and/or controller ?

It means that you could add a custom button on your controller, and have it control something extra on your car. For example, you could do a headlight mod on your car, then use the extra channel on the controller to switch them on and off remotely.

i have tons of ideas for this,the only problem is, is that i dont have a booster, just plain bits ! Where is the cheapest place to get them ?

Hmm... I was thinking, and is there a possible way to ADD a booster thing to your controller? It seems like it is possible, but very hard and complicated.

Adding it to the controller is easy if the controller chip is an TX2C. The RX needs to have a pin grounded. No one that I'm aware of has been able to determine where it is located on the RX PCB of if that pin is actually bonded to the PCB. The actual IC under the blob is just under 1.5mm square.

I think the only way to remove the blob will be using chemicals, without destroying the chip.
Don't even attemp to use a stanely knife or stupidly- a dremel.
Looks like some google-ing is necessary.
Soldering to that little chip will be a job!
