Multi-Controller

Anyone else here notice that the Tomy Multichannel controller SUCKS? Here's what's wrong:

1) RANGE. This thing shortens my range to about 3 feet. Why is the antenna so short??

2) I have to practically STAND on the forward button for it to register. I'm a strong guy, but my thumb starts to ache after about 5 minutes of play!

Has anyone found solutions to these problems? Also, what's the ABC switch on the back do? All I can tell is that it makes my cars not work sometimes unless I switch it. Ideas?

-Chris

Hey chris, I just got mine today... so I'll let you know what my findings are, if I get the same or similar results.

Re: range;

I've heard the same thing time and time again, so I've prepared myself for this and will inevitably do a telescopic mod if the situation calls for it!

well i got my multicontroller a couple days ago everything is great, but the range sucks horribly....there is no crip cap in it and i guess the only thing to do is to add another batt or a bigger antenna...other than that everything is great..

How big of a antenna did you use? You didn't see any improvement?

Nahhh...

Kenkudaki,
Have you modified the antenna on your car too? I did no crip cap mods other than the antenna mods on the controller and car and it works great.

I tried the multicontroller with ALL of my cars. With stock controllers, my range at LEAST doubled. Yes, the telescopic mod did help SOME, but it can be measured in inches.
