Booster!
Ok I'm not an idiot... I'm just slow. Anyways, I know I've heard about the booster thing for a while and still don't get it. Please someone explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old. If you have pics even better. Is it JUST the controller (the 4 ch one)? Or is it something that you actually have to put INTO your car? Help me out someone... thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong (I know someone will), but a "Booster" is a car with a slightly different circuit board. The extra circuitry allows it to have a "special feature" activated via the 4ch remote - in this case, the feature is that it RESTRICTS the current going to the motor, allowing the motor to run at lower RPM, slow the BCG down, and make it more manouverable through corners.
OK, most people have taken the original intent and flipped it. They drop say a 3.6 motor in, and run it at the "slow" speed by default, then activate the "boost" and run at full voltage, giving the "turbo boost" effect in a straight line.
End result it more fun

Okay. you buy a bit char-g.
Normal, stock. it doesnt need to have boost.
Then you buy a 4ch controller. The white greyyish purple ones.
Then you buy a booster machine set.
This set includes a 2.2 motor.
Install the machine and engine in your car, turn on your controller and your done.
Thats all there is too it. Buy it off toyeast if you want. Thier set includes everyhting you need for 38 bucks. booster machine 2.2 3.0 and a controller. Everything you need.

the booster set has 3 options..
1.) Slow as hell
2.) slow but you have option of turbo (boost to max speed)
3.) supercharger (boost is on all the time)
if you wanna go fast then just put to option three.. i like to have some fun with my bit so i put it to 2...

the booster and the reg bit is about the same just that the circuit board is made diffrently so it can handle two speed. im not sure what they did differently...
"things they put into their actual bit"

how much change in voltage?
Ok, I understand how the booster kit works now. Can someone who has one tell me how much slower it goes at the slow speed?
As in a 3.0 motor in slow-mode drop to.. what speed? About like a 2.2? 1.6? Perhaps you could do a little research and make a table showing all engines and their approximate RPM at the slower speed. I'd appreciate the help!

compairing speeds...
on i hvae a booster and here is what i have learned...
on regular speed (non boost) the sh!t is slow as hell! i have a 3.8 motor and it runs like a..uh.. i donno but really slow... 2.2?
on booster mode itll rip! the thing is crazy fast.. faster then regular 3.8 motor...
so in conclusion.. always keep it on for speed, but take it off for turns so you wont flip.. =P

the BOOSTER controler (4 channel) has a button... on the upper right hand side (corner). if you ever played playstation or Super nintendo. it is where the R(R1) button is. All you do is hit that to go to booster mode ten release to go back to normal mode.
Setting A - ALWAYS on regular mode
Setting B - Booster option is open
Setting C - Booster is ALWAYS on
have fun... ps if your thinking about buying a booster set or not... buy it, its more fun also faster then stock.

since everyone who read this are/will be booster users,
here's a lil tip you probably don't know.
the newer booster machines. (from auto modelista and possibly the 350Z) have faster regular speed and boost speed. i ran my old booster machine and the one from automodelisa and the auto modelista is almost twice as fast in regular and boost mode. so if you're interested in getting more booster machines, i'd get the 350Z or auto modelista
