Custom3CellChassis

Using my dremel, some JB Weld, and a AAA battery holder, I have created this!

I was in maplins and c this AAA cell holder,I figured that 3 1/3AAA cells would fit well in the AAA holder.

So heres the new chassis!

It was originally a 3cell std bit,but i got fed up with the toppling.

I even relocated the charging points and made my own!

Very nice, great idea using the AAA holder... so did you base your project around the battery holder or did just happen to work out that way?

Well I was actually browsing an electronics store, when I c the holder, I thought, hmm, That might make a nice chassis!

So I bought it!

I cut a chassis in half, n trimmed a lot off, then JB Welded the holder in.

I even used the old charging contacts, cut them down, drilled holes in the holder, then mounted the plates so that a charger can contact them.

Im either gonna modify an existing shell, or make my own vacuum forming machine, so I can make my own shell!

Or I might think of another way 2 make it!

Great minds think alike!

I'm building an extended-wheelbase dragster now too!

I will add a transistor to the circuit so that all battery power goes to the motor (and keeps the pcb from frying), then I may even add a cell or two more to see what kind of volts these motors can take

I'm shopping for vacumn-formed funny car bodies (for slot cars) right now!

This hobby is fun, isn't it???

How ya plannin' on turning that thing??

You can add Surface mount FET for more motor current. Even with a single cell (more efficient than the stock transistors). However, you sacrifice reverse when doing so.
