Nakamichi Racer Review

Hi,
I purchased a Nakamichi Racer and this is what I think.

Looks:
-Body paint and detail is kinda cheap I would give it a 7-10
-The wheels are awesome 10-10
-The height is normal for a bit 6-10

Performance:
-Acceleration is very nice 9-10
-The top speed is way over average 9-10
-the handling stinks with stock tires 4-10
-The handling is average with soft tires 7-10

Bad Suff:
-When you turn with turbo mode it slows down alot
-To get the wheels off you have to rip them off becasue you cannot pull out the axle.
-The motor is wired in so you cannot change it easily

Good Stuff:
-Excellent performance
-Dual Nimh batteries
-9 minute run time

Warnings:
-Whatever you do DONOT take outthe PCB to look inside. The battery connections for the charger will come out and it took me 3 hours to stick the darn thing back in.
-Do not loose any of the tiny screws

Overall-
This car is great for 15.00. Awesome performance but the quality is fair. This car can really get along. I would not recamend mofing this thing becasue it wil take forever the get everything back together. Another bonus is you can choose to run in normal mode or turbo. This car is also good for doing burnouts with the stock tires. I would get this car if you plan on driving it stock, accept for the tires. Do not buy this car if you want to mod it up, If you want to mod something up buy a 10.00 clone.

Thats about it, if you have anyquestions please reply.

I think it's great that the speed comes down when you turn as you would almost always roll over otherwise. The secret to repositioning the battery contacts is by useing a pin. If you look into the chasis you'll see that theres a small hole in each contact. You gotta stick the pin in there and work it back into the slots The first time is a bastard but I've done it about 6 times now as I've tweaked the steering. Thecar is no benchmark in qaulity but it is fun and fast. The controller is the most comfortable I've used. I just put a telescoping antenna and power jack on it.

WOW! a powerjack that would be sweetness. I agree that the slower cornering is nice. Yesterday I was racing a friend w/ a dual cell mod and we were tied and as he went around the corner he fliped and I didn't . I wasted him by the time we were done. I also agree about the controller, it is light and fits into your hand nicely. I am thinking of purchasing another because the body I have is not the one I wanted. I wanted the SUV or jeep, but I got a Car instead. Thanks for your reply.

Aaron
