Why would you want to get to the chip anyway? (Just curious)

Because if u ground pin 9 on ht chip, then u can activate the tomy so it works exactly like a booster, then on the transmitter u switch a ground to the chip, and now u have a booster!
but now mines dead ! lol
If tomy had left the chip exposed,it would b so easy!

Thanks for the reply, and the link! Pretty cool stuff. FWIW, all of my clones (LXX, Shen, Sen-Fa) have standard SMC chip construction vs. the integrated chip/PCB.

He mentions a certain receiver chip. Have a good read first!

Ahhh, I see that you need a "Rev. C" chip for the boost function! Who knows, maybe they will start showing up in the clones if they stopped making the "Rev. B" chips. Interesting reading, because if there is a DC-DC converter on board, maybe retrofitting MOSFETS for the motor H-bridge wouldn't be impossible as I had previously thought. (SMD logic level FET's would do nicely)
With FET drive, more powerful motors would probably start more reliably.

Dood! What were you gonna do if ya managed to get the blob off. The COB (chip on board) package is just over 1mm square. Microscopic cxns to the board...
Modding the transmitter would be a piece of cake. A jumper wire and a momentary on switch would do it.
My 40MHz clone has the SMT chip, but is rev. B...no free booster for me. Damn!!
NE1 that spots a rev. C RX chip on a clone. Please let us know.
