Seriously though, for those of us that don't want to try out each kind, what do you recommend, since you own those 4 types?

Ahhhh, an EXCELLENT question indeed. And the answer is...It depends.
What does it depend on? Space. The amount of space you have available to you to run these rascals on.
I can easily say that my FAVORITE car out of the bunch is the MiniZ. It's got great punch (stock, right out of the box), super tight (and smooth) steering and above all else a HUGE fanbase and mods galore. At ~$100 entry for a complete setup, it's definitely got the bang for the buck!
...Problem is, I live in a Condo. That means I've got NO SPACE to fully appreciate all that a MiniZ has to offer.
So, let's break it down...
MiniZ
Pros:
~$100. You can get serious (and LOTS of people do) with this badboy. Lots of fun, lots of mods, lots of solid control.
Cons:
While these guys are pretty small (at about 1/28th scale), they still need lots of room to really show their ability.
Epoch (Spec 2) <-- I like this one best
Pros:
With the super small size (at 1/43rd scale), solid punch and full proportional steering/speed...This is the perfect car for me in my small living environment...And, given a bigger area to go all out, would be lots of fun in a bigger environment as well.
Cons:
~$90. A bit pricey, considering the cheesy controller that comes with it. It also has a bit of understeer (solvable if you have a better controller, like the Perfex from a MiniZ). Lastly, there isn't much of a fanbase for the Epoch (yet anyway) and availalbe mods/upgrades are slim.
Bits & DigiQs
Pros:
Starting at around $30 (more like around $45 for DigiQ), these guys are great to PLAY WITH. Their super tiny size (like 1/70th scale) also means you can run them around on a coffee table, since they're so small.
Cons:
These things are toys, they're great fun to play with and modify, but when you get down to it, they're TOYS. They don't offer true proportional steering/speed so you really can't put them in the same category as the larger scale cars.
So, after all that...The bottom line is; The MiniZ is (hands down) my favorite, but I've got no room to really race with it.
My second favorite is the Epoch (Spec 2), while it's not as silky smooth nor has the punch of the Z, it can still spin wheels and handle very nicely. And at such a small scale, I can get some decent racing in in my small quarters!
