I'm fairly certain that Bits were out in Japan, then ZZ in the US, then Microsizers, and a hell of a lot of clones all came in at random times.

Definately the Bit Char-G started the craze more than a year ago in Japan.

Tomy was the first to come out w/ the Bit Char-G sometime in 4th quarter of 2001. Takara and the clones were next. [i've read somewhere between 3-6 months after Tomy] i believe ZZ came out 3rd of 4th quarter of 2002 [someone correct me if i'm wrong]

m0nkeyCharG is correct.

The Tomy Bit Char-G and Takara DigiQ both were introduced to the Japanese market right around Octoboer '01.

The ZipZaps were introduced in late September, '02

Nope, MS were out a while before ZZ; ZZ just did a better job of advertising etc.
