im not sure, but most of the people here seem to say that the bitmod motors are better than the tomy 3.0s... i think it's cuz the tomy 3.0 has a bad rep with bit char-gs... but i dun wanna mail order.. so it's tomy 3.0 for me.. when the shop gets them in.. i'll tell you how it works when i get it!

jus so you know, if you get a bigger motor, such as a 3.8, which is what i have, dont run it too much at a time, only use it sparingly in short races, they have a tendacy to burn out easily. i learned that the hard way....

Same goes for larger RC's that use "540" size motors. The more powerful you go, the shorter they last. I suppose you would need a microscope to replace the brushes on a micro-b motor!

FWIW, I'm happy with the Tomy 2.6 from a KIT racer .

hmm i found that the 2.6 has very very little torque. my good clone motors get about the same top speed with 5x the torque.

Yes agreed...the 2.6 is very lacking in torque which is why, as far as tomy engines, I prefer the 2.2. If I want faster than that I use the zz turbo engine (red one I believe) which has a TON of torque. I was able to pop wheelies in my nephews NSX-R with out any extra weight in the back or doing the dual battery mod! (well I was impressed at least hehe)

I noticed that the "rose" colored motors from the Shen Qi Wei clones have amazing torque and speed. You're right, the genuine Tomy (2.6) motors are a little lacking in the torque department, but they have a nice top end (IMO) and are readily available (and cheap) in KIT racer form.

hmm if 2.6 tomy's lack torque, then would the 3.0s be weak as a baby then?

maybe, maybe not. maybe my 2.6 is bunk. i kinda doubt it tho because i have a "zcars" 2.6 and it is only slightly better.

all i know if a 3.0 is a lot more fun than a 2.2 or a 2.6
i was driving my friend's 3.0 in my automodellista.
We had 2 2.2 motors, 1 2.6 and 1 3.0. The 3.0 was the only one that could get up the tech deck ramps every time. The 2.6 got up every other time. We kept switching out teh 3.0 because we all wanted it. It was a lot faster than the 2.2 motors. None of us have used any better motor, so we have nothing to compare it to.
