slow mini-x

I own a Micro RS4 with a micro modified motor and rechargable NiMH batterysand a Mini-z with a X-speed motor and bearings and a Dynamite rocket racer with a Micro RS4 180 motor and rechargable NiMH batterys so my new mini-x is slow. I had been reading this forum and everyone was talking about how fast they are. I plan on adding the 7.2v pack but I dont see that really making that big of a diffrence. So my question is am I stuck with a slow Mini-x or what? It does have crazy acceleration on the plus side and its a very well built car.

yes the Mini-x is fairly slow with the stock four cell battery ( good for beginners though) but I promise ya, with the 6 cell pack the speed more than doubles, I have a hard time running in anything less than a 20x35 carpeted room. I upgraded my Mini-X with the Novak Spy ESC for better speed and to get brakes, and it makes a HUGE difference in the driving experience. My mini-x can keep up with my 1/10 scale TC3 car in smaller areas because of the awesome acceleration and handling in the corners. I installed a deans plug on my 6cell battery and use a MRC Super Brain 959 charger and the setup works fantastic. I cant tell you how much greater the 6cell setup is, it will leave the Mini-Z in the dust and probably would keep up with a micro RS4. Get that 6cell!! you wont be sorry.. After you run it with 6cells, youll swear off any other cars.

ksavage68, have you posted pics of the Spy-equipped X? Cool!

jerm781, you must get the 6-cell, it's like going from a stock Micro w/ 4 alkaline AAs to your current setup (or more!).

Tinyrc,
yep I have posted pics in the gallery under thread "my new mini-x" of the MiniX with body and a pic without the body showing the Novak SPY install. check it out here:

http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=456

I use the orange Rx7 body for daily running and the Ferrari F40 for show only. let me know what you think! I think my next mod is going to be adjustable upper arm links and a custom motor heatsink made from a anodized video card heatsink!!
