When running all sorts of microcars on the floor you soon get a lot of dust on the wheels. A way of improving the grip is to put a wet piece of paper on the floor. When the car starts spinning just run over the wet paper and you get very good grip. This works on vinylfloors and woodflors.. I have not tried other surfaces...
Wet paper towel and my beloved bit! Never! I'll stick to hard board. How wet is the paper towel? Not attacking you or anything like that, but how often are you gonna to remoist the towel?
I use a q-tip and alcohol. Plus if you clean floor with windex surface cleaner (I have a hardwood floor track) before each use your tires stay way cleaner.

That's a fantastic idea. Just put it in the pit area and one swipe over the towel is the same as the burnout before a drag race.
