New Motor

Would buying a faster motor tear up your rover? Possible grind up the gears? I have some faster motors that would make my rover go about 25 mph, but I dont want to screw up my rover's gears. Are the gears replaceable?

Any help would be good!

I'm sure you could get replacement parts and I'm thinking you would prolly need um. See what happens when you buy Bits...you get speed on the brain. I sometimes wish the Rovers were faster but I'm spending enuff on batteries as it is. It would be funny to see a Rover doing 25MPH down a sidewalk.

Don't do it been there done that.It will tear up the gears also it will run hotter. My first rover became the spare parts rover after I fried the Reciver board.I bought a twin turbo blimp on channel {A} thinking I could control my blimp with my system commander so I could have it patrol around my house and the transmiter are not wired the same in order to get the blimp to go forward with the rover transmitter you have to have one stick down and one stick up.To bad it would have been cool to have blimp sentry to patrol the house.

WOW! Too bad the blimp was not compatable with the Rover controller. That would have been cool as hell if it worked.

I started to think about it I could find out which command is is what tile is equal to forward ,backwards, right ,left and program it that way.I think that would work on system commander and be able to control the blimp with computer.

couldn't you just take the guts out of the rover and use them in the blimp? there are 2 motors in each, and the 3 thruster could be disconnected, so you could have a blimp that could patrol but not go up or down.

I have the twin turbo blimp. But I was playing with the Tele commander the other day.The Transmitter works but here how the controls work both sticks forward or back blimp spins or hovers left or right. One stick forward and one back blimp either moves forward or backwards. So I set up the tiles and pluged the transmiter in to my computer. The blimp followed the commands I found out the 2 second brust works the best. But when you get caught in a corner it takes awhile for it to get out so you have to program the blimp to constantly be turning to keep out of the corners.I think what would be cool is to have some kind of sensor blimp.Like the sensor robots that sense they are going to crash in to wall and do the oppsite motion to avoid hitting the wall. This sensor unit coupled with Telecommandeer softwear and Pvt 16 camera you could have true flying sentry in your house.

If you used metal gears and a small heatsink would you be able to run with faster motors?

No!! because you tear up the drive train gears. Now rework the gears with metal and find a brass worm gear for the motor then maybe.
