Bit Arrived DOA! I need suggestions!
Hello everyone,
I am a fellow bit enthusiast, and I just received an auto-modellista set in the mail. Unfortunately, the car seems to be dead. I tested the battery and the motor, and both of them work perfectly by themselves. The car has no signs of life at all. Does anyone have any suggestions for anything else I should try? None of the wires inside are broken or anything of the sort. I ordered this set from ToyEast, and I have contacted them about the matter, but I would much rather fix this on my own if possible. Thank you for your input!

Wait and see what Toyeast has to say about it. Don't take it apart just yet, incase they want you to send it back. Make sure that you turn the radio on before you put the car on the charger. Some people don't realize this, and they think the car is damaged.

Charging
I am sure that the battery is charging. I removed the battery from the car and used it to run my spare motor.

Gotta be a wire broke where you can't see it. Maybe behind the battery tab.

I had a similar issue and could not figure out whan the H*** was wrong. After going over inch of the bit i found that one of the thin wires came unsolder a little. With a steady hand and a soldering iron, it is back up and running.

it could be a reception issue. my friends zcar crapped out after a week or so. if you have test leads with aligator clips(or substitute to the best of your resources) connect the car antenna tip(or where the antenna connects to the board to the controller antenna. see if you get anything then. if it does work then you know something is messed up wth the reception.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions so far!. With the car charged, I used a paperclip with the PCB and I can make the steering work, so the steering is not the problem. I can't get the motor to work, but those are big wires and they appear to be soldered correctly, so this leads me to beleive it's the PCB, and if it is, I guess I'm SOL/ have to send it back. For now I'll wait for a response from ToyEast. Thanks again!

One more thought...on the end of the motor, opposite the gear, there is a little tab. I know the motor should work no matter how you put it in, maybe try putting the motor in where the tab will make good contact. I will keep them coming as i think of them.
