funny side project..
one day i was driving my car, and i was doing skid stops, or drifting a whole bunch. at one point, on wheel comes off the rim. good thing i was done by that time. anywho, i was really bored one night and i didnt feel like reglueing the wheel. so i was thinking, hey, why dont i take off the wheels from my hornet, and put it onto my mini. so then i mounted hornet tires onto hpi mini star rims.. and voila, perfect fit. result? a rear wheel drag car, only cosmetic. so im like, forget this, i need it to be cooler, so i wanted to make a ff drag mini. the result: the giant bohemian of a mini my friend dubbed the goliath. at first i was running a cut up pajero body, but then it looked like some jacked up suv, so i decided to do some scratch mody mount work (cuz i cut mine) and the result..

i also added some make shift exhaust from a 1/18th dicast that i never got around to posting, and just recently, the back bumper from the tamiya body kit. also had the front but too that off, hence the holes in the earlier pic. but heres a pic of the back..

as you may notice, theres an original body mount setup due to the shortness of them (causing the body to hit the bigger wheels) solution.. make some. i took the back body mounts and put them in the front. took some extra dampers, and mounted those to the back. mounted the shorter body mounts on the top of the damper. this is what you get:

runs great the acceleration is severely lacking, however, the top end appears to be able to probably be higher than that of the regular m.. i just dont have a long enough straight away to tell.

yeah.. i turn left and right just fine. but the car is no longer like that. hehe, it was too shifty on the body. i went to my lhs and i purchased another gear box.. so now if i wanted to, i can make it dual motor. the purpose actually is to just extend my wheel base to use the hpi mini bodies.. the 225 mm ones. i bought a miata body. i dont really like it. i wanted the gti. oh well. ill post pics when im done with it. i got tires and wheel inserts for my rims too. just waiting on the aluminum parts.. and whattaya think.. red or black flange wheel lock nuts? i think black.. but theyre 7 bucks.. grr.. unless tiny rc can help with that? haha! hey pg, hows your car doing? did you have to rebuild your motor?

my cars doing good actually. I've only had to replace the brushes and I clean every three runs so it stays nice and clean. I think I may try one of those trinity 6 turn drag motors and make a FWD drag civic....

i was thinking about getting a mod motor, but then with cleaning and replacing springs and brushes, is that a hassle? how much would i be looking to be spending in terms of cost and labor? i would need to by a lathe or anything would i?
