wheelies
i heard you can do wheelies with some micro cars. i know you cant do it with one thats new, so what mods would you need to do wheelies? I saw something that a guy had 3 NiHM batteries with a 2.6 motor and he did it (it was a bit char-g car). Can you actually do wheelies? And are there high torque motors you can buy?

im not so sure but here goes. well u need a strong motor, probally 3.0+ or sumthin with lots of torque, and i heard pplz say that u can tape 3 quarters on the back of ur car and if u have a 2 cell mod the battery on the car is enough wieght. or u can just buy the wheelie bar. hope this helps

well, all I did was a dual cell mod to my bit and put in high torque gearing. now it wheelies too much. wheeleing is not so hard to do really

If you dual cell the extra to the outside, it move the center of mass far enough up and back that it'll wheelie with a 2.6 on the stock gears, even. I can't get my internal dual cell to wheelie with high torque gears and a 3.0 unless it's getting alot of grip. The extra battery on the inside gives it enough ballast to keep it on the ground. It pretty much all comes down to a balance issue.

Here ya go.
If your worried about low end power torque is the key, for top end speed, its all about hte RPMs.
Now if you got a motor with enough torque, you can just drive backwards a few inches, put it in forward and do a wheelie with out a dual battery. It helps to use hte blue gearing as well since those help improve low end torque.
Now for motors, driftkingshop used to carry on hardcore over the 1.6, and htey also have their own lines of motors , one of which according to htem (i'll stick to my zz nos) has really nice torque.
And hte zz nos is great for torque as well, even better on a booster though, since the booster really makes this motor shine.
And dual internal batteries isnt going to work since you are messing up the weight ratio. bits have a very ugly front/rear weight ratio. I havent measured but i can guess that its around 35/65 front/rear. while that is nice for wheelies, it make handling a bit tricky.
Here's some stats for you from the dec 2002 issue of grassroots motorsports magazine, they had a nice shooout between two 80's porsches (mostly since those are cheap enough to risk crashing on a track, therefore are commonly used in SCCA racing)
A 1983 porsche 91 SC (the real car) has a front rear weight ratio of 40.6 front/59.4 rear and it takes a very seasoned driver to keep it from spinning out around corners (sounds like how our bits handle, doesnt it?) And 1984 prosche 944 has aratio of 49.2 front/ 50.8 rear and its so stable you cant even make it spin without some act of deliberate stupidity.
