pinion question..

anyone know whats the largest toothed pinion you can put on the m? i switched my car to fwd, and right now it has a 23 tooth pinion (my rear wheel has 20) and seems to get stuck when you try to mount the motor. i dunno. its weird... anything new?

I think that 23 is teh biggest you can put in there without getting a smaller spur gear.....

I run a 20 tooth in my FWD set up.....

If you want your car to go faster with out getting a larger pinion gear you can use larger wheels, like touring car wheels.....that will improve yoru top speed...

i changed it to the 20 tooth pinion. car runs fine.. and its faster with the tomy zenergy motor all though i dont know much about it. im sure its a stock off road motor though. i was thinking.. so close to purchasing.. a 7 turn double reedy ti modified.. but the run time would only be about 5 mins.. i dunno. thats fast.. but i want to still be able to drive. hows the run time with the 9 turn? also, how many runs do you average until you have to clean out your motor, put on new brushes, etc? i would find that to be a hassle with mod motors.. but i guess thats the price you pay with speed.. anywho, i installed some make shift tail pipes, makes me car look hilarious. but cool. other than that, nothing new with my m.. oh yeah, anyone know if they make aluminum knuckles and front arms/camber arms for the M?? i was looking at the tl01.. but i think those are too big. damn..

I would say you could go aftermarket, but I feel its not really needed, I run my M hard and the pinion is not showing any signs of noticable wear as of yet.
