Foamcore track

Ok, I have begun construction on a "test track"... it measures a tiny 40" x 30".

The base is foamcore, black in color, with green spraypaint for "grass". Later on I might add some scenic grass stuff, but perhaps not.

It is two pieces of 20" x 30" foamcore, and will be joined in the middle by black tape.

Guardrails are going to be made of plastic pieces... I found a bunch at my LHS. I got some triangle-shaped pieces and some flat rectangular-shaped pieces [as the supports and guardrails themselves, respectively].

I am hoping this turns out well :c) I am planning on creating a "How-To" or a "How-I-Did-It" web page once the project is completed.

Also, as I mentioned before, this is a test track, kind of a proof of concept. Should this track turn out successfull, I will create a much larger track.

Well, so far I've got one half of it "painted" and will begin construction on the guardrails tonight [hopefully]. I will have pics once the track is up and I'm running on it :c)

Until then, be patient :c)

On a side note, I have found that foam core provides a very nice traction level for ZipZaps... and I'll fire up my MicroSizer sometime and try it out too :c)
