Steering Issues

Hey peoples,

I'm new to the forums, but doing lots of reading on them. As of yet I've been unable to find a solution to my problem, if it is really a problem.

I have the Auto Modelista set, have had it for a couple of weeks now. Love it, my wife thinks I'm nuts. Anyways, the bit makes right turns like it's no ones buisness. When I make a left turn though, the turn radius is about 3-4 times that of a right turn. The alignment tab on the bottom runs almost straight, and the bit drives almost perfectly straight.

Is this a common thing with the bits, or is there perhaps something wrong with my bit.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you much,
Jeremy386

this could be a lot of things...

*check the front wheels free spinning ability*

*Check the magnet's alignment*

*Remove any metallic particles picked up by magnet*

*Check to make sure your steering return spring is not all bent up*

*Try tire rotations and such*

*try it without the body on (possible rubbing?)

that's all I can think of right now.

Oh yeah and DO THE SPRING SAFER MOD FIRST THING IF YOU PLAN ON OPENING UP THE FRONT END!

I also suggest that you open the front end up somewhere that if you do have a tiny spring go flying it will be easy to find! like a bathroom with tiles. (toilet lid down, I can imagine bad things there!)

Good Luck

This should have my fix for this problem. At least this fixed my problem. Another common cause of this problem is an off center magnet in the magnet carrier.

Good luck.

Edit: Oh good grief. Don't I feel like a two year old now... I guess I can't post the name of a competitor here?
In anycase search the ZipZap forum here for threads on steering problems. Or you can try to replace those ****'s with

micro
rc
center
but you'll have to run those 3 lines together.

Here's a link to the same info on this site...
http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...light=steering

I didn't end up putting as much info in it as I did over at the other site though. Shrug.

When I got my Bit Char G Skyline GT-R I had pretty much the same issue. So I tore the steering assembly apart and found that there was a small piece of plastic inside it, the magnet was slightly off and there was a little glue on one side of the magnet. Upon fixing this the car ran perfect.
