TechnoXtreme and TinyRC.com to Sponsor First Canadian Micro Grand Prix
The first Canadian Micro Grand Prix will take place at The Hobby Show, Canada’s largest consumer hobby show and sale, beginning November 8th 2002.
This new national race for MicroSizer
TM class cars (1/64th scale and smaller) will take place on TechnoXtreme’s Porta-Trax
TM miniature Lego
TM race track: complete with lap timer, a virtual infield and track lighting. Admission to the race is free with your Hobby Show admission, and there are two full days to practice before the championship race on Sunday, November 10th.
Race classes will include: stock and modified stock for MicroSizer and Bit Char–G or Yokomo
TM 1/60, and a unique class where anything that fits on the track is eligible! Trophies and prizes will be awarded, as well as bragging rights in this first ever event.
According TechnoXtreme’s Lorne Cherry, The goal of the Canadian Micro Grand Prix is to raise awareness of the new tabletop class of R/C cars that are becoming popular worldwide. Truly miniature in size, yet fully R/C capable with working steering, interchangeable engines and suspension systems, these pocket racers are an inexpensive yet fun introduction in R/C car racing. And because they’re so small you can have fun just about anywhere!
