:3P Infield HTU Setup:

We have tried several different tire compounds, Chassis plates, also have used the x-speed motor, gyro, ball diff, ball bearings on the HobbyTown track layout and this is our result...

For a bone stock chassis changing the tires seem to work very well as a first modification.

Kyosho Tires: Front- 40F Rear- 10R / 20R Seem to give the best performance.

Next we would recommend the Full Ball Bearing kit which makes a big difference on how smooth the car runs around the track. The stock bushings wear out and puts drag on the wheels which overall effect how you have to drive the car.

We have installed the Ball bearing Diff, but to be really honest we have not seen any lap times change with it on. The car seems to run the same with no major difference in speed or handling. Depending on how you drive it would be a preference parts to install on your car.

The Gyro is by far one of the best performance upgrades to the car on our track, we have a few customers who are running them and they have given us excellent feedback on it. You can also see the difference, the car holds better on the straight which allows you to give it a little more throttle to make up for some lost time in the turns. The car handles better in the turns which allows you run cleaner and tigher turns. So this is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED UPGRADE....

The X-Speed motor is to fast for the track causing more destruction derby runs then anything else. It makes the car super fast and difficult for a new racer to use and is a challenge even for a advance driver. Most of my customers that have it installed are slower then they were when they had the stock motor. But these cars become little bullits when this motor is installed, and its just amazing on how they fast they can really be. So this part would not be Recommended for the HTU Track layout.

As far as the Chassis plates, we have played with all 3 ( soft, med, hard ) and found that it is all based on the driver. Depedning on your driving style you would go with either plate. All seem to work very well on track and helps to hold the car together when making a aggressive turn or for just stability on the straight. This would be a recommended upgrade but as far as which stiffness to use would be totaly up to the driver. My suggestion is there cheap to purchase I would just pick up all 3 and do a few laps with each to see which one performs better for your liking. So I would Recommend this part as a good upgrade.

Some people have done some neat little tricks to help with handling or prolonging there stock tires.

1. You can use some Electric Motor Cleaner to clean the tires letting them dry well and use Sticky Fingers Tire compound. ( The only tire compound I allow to use because there is no scent )

2. Few of my customers find that in between races or qaulifiers they use a Sticky Lint Roller and roll it over the tires which seemd to work well in removing any kind of dirt and lint that is stuck to the tires.

Also not sure what everyone else is using to clean there track in between runs, but we have found that 2 or 3 Sticky Lint Rollers and a few racers rolling them on the track works EXCELLENT.... I do this in between each Round and it only takes a few minutes if everyone grabs one and cleans a corner. You can get these rollers in 3 packs or singles for fairly cheap and they last for while.

I hope this info helps out my Local racers and anyone else who reads this. This is just my personal preference from trial and error. If I find anything new that works well with our track I will post it here.

Thanks for looking

Richard F
