Another mod for my F-150 Evo
Anyone got any suggestions about how to make this trailer hitch up to my home-made trailer hitch on my lifted F-150 Xmod Evo and how to anchor the loading ramps so they don't flop when I'm using the trailer?

Figured it out, sort of
I figured out how to make it work as evidenced by the picture taken w/ my camera phone. Only thing, now is how to resolve the trailer's weight issue; the trailer and the added weight of the Mustang are too much for the F-150 to pull. So, I have come up w/ 1 of 2 plans to resolve this issue.
Plan #1: Drill some holes in the plastic "sheet metal" trailer deck and some holes in the trailer's metal frame
OR
Plan #2: Install a high torque micro servo in the F-150 so it'll have enough grunt to pull said trailer
So, tell me, which idea do ya'll think would work best?

Drilling holes cost nothing but time, so I'd try that first, or replace the metal deck with a plastic one.
Not sure what setup you're using with your truck, but you could try using the stage 1 motor with high torque gearing. Sorry, I'm kinda new at modifiying RC's, so I don't have that much experience with them, and don't have any sophisticated suggestions for you. I know atomic mods has a high torque motor specially designed for awd.
By the way, that's a cool setup. I like it.

The deck isn't metal, it's plastic. Only the trailer's frame is metal. As for my truck's set-up, it's the Stage 2 30,000 rpm motor set up for high torque runnin' awd. How would a Stage 1 which is 27,000 rpm give me enough torque to pull the trailer? I might have to look into that high torque awd motor from atomic.

Sorry, I guess I misread about the deck.
I'm not really sure about the stage 1 motor. I was under the impression that the lower the speed of a motor, the more torque it would have.
One thing I have heard people do to increase the torque of a motor is to swap out the magnets inside with neodyminium (spelling?) or rare earth magnets.

Update
Trailer update (as of 4/12/07):
Okay, I took Rody's advice that he put in his post of swapping out the 30,000 rpm motor for the stock 27,000 rpm motor and drilled a few holes in the underside of the trailer( that part didn't help much). Well, the stock motor running the high torque set up was just the ticket I needed. But look @ the picture and you'll see what else I had to do to the truck for it to be able to tow that trailer.

I'm confused, why is it that you have the body lifted so much if you're not going to run big tires? It looks a bit odd to me.

Chill, dude... I'll explain. Originally I had bigger tires on the truck and they wouldn't clear the body's wheel wells so I took the front mount and flipped it upside and mounted the body. So, it's been that way ever since. Are we clear now?

Me chill, I was asking a simple question.... It's you who needs to chill out, just friendly folk here when you're not trying to incite us. To look more proportioned, I would flip it back.
Did you ever play the big foot nintendo game? I remember there were different mods on the trucks you could buy and you could make a truck look just like that by jacking it up and not buying bigger tires.... ahh, the good old days.

Yeah, I agree. Flip the clip back or find some wheels that fit. It looked much better with the bigger wheels on in my opinion. Glad my suggestion of the stage 1 motor helped. Something to keep in the back of my mind if I ever need more torque.
I just installed a LiPo pack in my Hummer, and now it crawls over many obstacles, that I couldn't before. It's super fast too now. That may help you tow your trailer also. It's all about the fun.
