Do a search on this forum for Rydz and you might find some info. Most of us are not in Canada and have no access to them, so there probably won't be a lot of info.

I recently bought a Mazda RX-8 Custom Rydz car, and they're not what they're made out to be. They have many disadvantages to the almighty xmods. For example: The car comes with no tools, whatsoever...or wheel nuts, so you have to buy the upgrade kit and get your own screwdriver from somewhere just to get the new car running! the stock motor has less power than the xmod, the turning radius kind of sucked on mine and there is overall, VERY limited customization you can do on this thing! So if you want a newbie car, the custom rydz is for you, I guess. But if you want a car with nearly unlimited customization possibilities, get an x-mod!

custom rydz suck
i got a custom rydz the other day after i had my xmod for about a month. turning radius is about half and its so much slower. the only thing that caught my eye was the awd stock which sucks anyways lol theres no traction at all waste of money and i bought a demo model so i can`t even take it back so if nothing else i got a supra body for my xmod...

Sorry to be reviving an old thread....
but the Custom Rydz are now on sale at The Source for $19.99. I picked up an Acura RSX. The accessories are also on sale. It looks like they are discontinuing them.
Extra 'upgrade' motors are $2.99 etc.
I like the custom rydz RSX better than my 1st gen NSX. Mainly cause I have stocked up on accessories.... - 3 sets of wheels, tires and suspensions for $3?
I am going to buy one more car, and plan to try a 5th cell upgrade on it.
The Custom Rydz has more torque than the xmods NSX with a new PN Stock FET motor (red gear) in it. (It can push a door closed, while my NSX just stalls) It also runs on berber carpet, while the gen 1 doesn't
My main beef with the xmods is that I got a gen 1 car when they were fazed out, and didn't pick up any accessories for it. I'm getting tired of ordering stuff on line for it, The other thing is that I wasn't really happy with the steering radius on mine.

Custom Rydz
I just got a few of those $19.95 Custom Rydz from The Source the other day. They start off great, but seem to suck the batteries in no time! I may have made the mistake of buying the wrong brand of batteries from the Source that were on sale.
So my problem with Custom Rydz so far is that the power dissipates after a short time of play. Anyone else have that prob?
Do the brand of AAA's make a difference? Any strongly recommended? How about rechargeables?

for the custom rydz. just take the drive shaft off the back and disconnect the rear differential. it goes alot fast after that but it has alot of torque steer. you just cant make it rwd only. the front wheel joints get all loose. you would need a custom front everything.
