how many volts can they take
Hey guys, I was wondering how many volts can a stock Xmod handle? I've already hooked up my 7.2v battery pack from my Micro RS4 but that left it a little bit top heavy and it rolls over quite easily at the speeds it is acheiving. I'm wanting to balance out the sides so it has some leaway. I may slant the batteries (like a - camber) making it wider. The picture is my idea if they can hold 14.4 volts.

Without stacked FETs I believe its somewhere in the neighborhood of 8.4 volts MAX.

Do you have a digital camera? I'd like to see how you set it up.
Also, did you measure the battery output with a voltimiter? you could have possibly wired them together so they put out half of 7.2v (series wiring)?
Just tryin to make sure you don't smoke your board/fets/xmod!

Here is a pic of the batts, you can see that it is set up so the output is 14.4 volts. They are held on by velcro and some duct tape.

WOW those are monsters! Holy crap.
My lithium cells are the size of AA batteries, and they're 7.2 volts...those are gargantuan!
Well, thats good that it works, heres to hoping it lasts you a good long time!
Cheers,
Cliff

Hehehe, I said they were from a micro RS4. Yeah, I swear these things will never die. I have had it running non stop for almost 45 mins, and no drop in power what-so-ever! I'm too cheap for Li-ions, but there will be a day when I get them.
