Aftermarket bodies???

I'm curious how many of you have installed an aftermarket body to your monster. I went looking the other day for something other than radio shack brand that i could retrofit but didnt have much luck. I took the stock "bigfoot" body with me to get basic size idea but couldnt find much in the way of a good fit. Has anyone found a good source for an aftermarket body? just looking for ideas

I found a metal(hotwheels style) body and i think i can retrofit it to work but im worried about the weight. Do you think that a metal body would slow it down alot or would it be hard to tell?

Metal body is a lot havier than plastic one.
aproximate weight of the ZZSE with the body is about 30g
the ZZ shell is about 10g
the metal body about 35g
bottom line, die-cast body will slow it down.

well i tried a metal body last night and after alot of grinding and removing the metal under carrage,, and a few small modifications i was able to get it to fit. Its a little smaller than the stock body but it does work.. as far as slowing it down and such i didnt notice much of any difference,, the only thing i did notice is that the run time was a bit less,,, i may keep it i may not,, just thought i would get that info out.

here are some pics.

( i own a sport trac so its only fitting)

oddly enough the orange gears match quite well,, i just wish i could get the body to sit down a little lower,, problem is the bed sinks down and stops it,, all well

looks very nice. more like the real thing. shoud be handling
better.
btw my bad on the weight statments. i was talking about
zip zap se.
as far as monster goes. it's got plenty of power to run
with that body but wears out quicker. that's the weight.
i like my monster jumps so i went with a lighter body.

i took the body off and ground down some more metal and removed the clear cover on the top and now ive been able to lower the body down to that lower horizontal line,, looks much better,, ill try and get pics later,,, i also removed the bump stops on the shocks and was able to get twice the travel in the front,, now if i could only find some weaker springs,, maybe ball point pen springs or something

H-E-L-L NO. it's not better. can be fond at toy store
KB toys, WALmart, etc. about $12. it's not all that bad,
but no comparison to monster. it's got magnet steering and it's RWD.
if you removed plastic cover, i would sudgest some electric tape or thin plastic to cover pcb away from dust. should
improve your weight ratio.
