Controller mod
I hate the new buttons on the MT controller. They feel very wobbly and very loose. The up/down goes a little left/right and vice versa which made my steering techniques very sloppy. I guess this was RS attempt to fix the small button complaint with the first generation controllers. I tried modding them by adding screws in the center of the buttons (joystick) so that it would be easier to control but when I started to drill the holes...surprise! I ran into another problem. There are screws on the other sides of the "improved" rocker buttons. So, I took the whole stinking buttons out and replaced them with buttons from an old ZZ controller. First you have to carve out the button holes a little because they're a little smaller than the previous buttons. Then you can replace the rocker buttons but you also need to replace the little rubber things too that make the connection on the circuit board. Just clip off the rubber knobs to make them flat and use a teeny bit of super glue on the edges to make them stick. Now you can add screws to the middles of the buttons to make them like joystick buttons no prob. The controller works very well now. I don't have to constantly look down to see which button is which and the buttons feel very tight and clean. BTW, did anyone notice the hole in the bottom right of the MT contoller? What is that for? I thought that I had lost something when I put the controller back together, lol.
I also did a couple minor mods to my Bigfoot MT. First, clipped the lower suspension pegs that stuck out too far. Then I added a roll bar (from Toyota Bb Open Deck Bit CharG). Also added new heavy duty bumper (from Walmart Motorworks car) which fits perfectly. With the new bumper, I can flip the truck on it's front end and run it backwards with the rear tires in the air. I have a couple more minor mods to do which include adding a spare tire mounted on the truck bed and replacing the antenna with a CAT5 one. I don't have pics yet but will get them up as soon as I can.
