Wind Up Antenna Problems

The grey topper on my antenna came off and the wire went all the way into the controller.

I took it apart and pulled the wire out some but it does not easily move in and out anymore.

Is there a way to fix this or should i figure a way to mount my 3 foot telescoping antenna in the micro controller.

hahahahahaha..
Initial runs with the 6 foot antenna ( dont aske me why I kept thinking it was 3 foot) with out removing the antenna problem capasitor is 30 feet in the area where I could only get 10 before.

I'll rig this thing up tonight and see what ill do outside.

Tests were made by pulling the blue antenna wire out of the antenna slot and having someone hold the antenna while i drove and held the wire in place.
