Question is it worth it to you?

Hello, this is my first post. I was happy as He!! to find this place and spent a lot of time reading. As a owner of both the x-mod and the mini z I can easily say which is best. Or at least until I got here. I have EVERY mod you can make on the X-mod from Radio Shack. I had NO, and I mean NO idea that you could do the things I have read here. SO My question for you is....... After these mods are done (like the "R-tune performance" package from http://www.xmodspeed.com/product_pack.htm . Are the X-mods a good fight for the mini z's. I have a read a few post and the only thing that I could find that was close was when someone said that he/she was going to ad a gas powered motor (good luck with that one). Does anyone else have both and had a chance to compare?

well stock to stock, the mini-z will win. i have tried mini-z vs. Rsx, civic and skyline. no contest. don't get me wrong, I love my xmods!!! I also don't like the fact that the mini-z controller cannot be changed to left-hand steering. ( i am left-hand controller) so i don't use the mini-z.

But yeah after all the mods, the xmod will kill the mini-z.
my 6th cell, carbon fiber parts AWD orange civic schooled my mini-z. WAHAHAHa

i am very happy to hear that you happy with your xmod. We welcome you the forums!!! take care Ambush

btw, if you have any questions, just ask!!

Welcome to the boards, l just have a few words of advice. do a search before you ask a question, and read an entire thread before you post a reply.

Shiporu, are you talking about RedRSX?

RS Stage 2 motors

I know a lot of you guys don't like the RS motors, but today I added the NiMH batteries and the RS Stage 2 motor(10 tooth). Man, I am impressed! I mean, I know that there are faster engines out there, but for $16, the RS engines work pretty good. I put one in my Skyline with only 2WD and it spins out like crazy. My Supra has the AWD kit, and it just cooks. I recently bought an SS130 engine(11 tooth) from AtomicMods.com, but have not put it in yet. I can only imagine what it will do then...

Thanks for all of the interesting reading. Any one know where any racing is in the Houston area? It would be fun to check out the competition.

Oh yeah, almost forgot...added the metal sealed TinyRC bearings to both cars. Those little gems are awesome. I would recommend them to anyone!!

correction

A fully modded X-mod will beat a stock mini-z. A fully modded mini-z (Plasma dash motor, twin turbo, 6 cells) would obliterate a fully modded x-mod.

What if I use neuro's fets upgrade, which I have here, and install the plasma dash motor in my xmod what would make a fully modded mini z faster then my xmod?

oops sorry down there.

mini-z

The mini-z is lighter, not counting the carbon fiber chassis, you can get one for a mini-z too. So apples to apples the mini-z is lighter. The mini-z has a better steering servo, handles better, and in general is better designed (especially the MR-02 model, even though the MR-01 is still better than an xmod) . If you want to compare pound for pound $ for $, the xmod is better because the mini-z costs sp much. If you want to race at a track, then there is absolutely no comparison, Mini-Z is a no-doubter. What you've got here is a Hyundai Tiburon (X-mod) vs an Acura/Honda RSX (Mini-Z MR-01) or RSX type R (MR-02). Similar in many ways, but one is obviously better and more expensive

na....its more like comparing a stock supra to a stock skyline.... stock for stock the skyline would be faster and handle better but once you mod them you can have a very very very fast supra that would only drag and a stupidly fast skyline which could race at a track...

Agreed

That's pretty accurate, I guess. You get the drift at least. No arguing over why the Supra is better than the Skyline or Vice Versa because it's not relevant.
