Arrow 4'x6' track - what should I do?

I have the space to make a 4x6 track. I always wanted to make a city type track but I am not sure if I could make a decent one with my limited amount of space. I think I may have to make one as just a race track. I have a few designs asuming the lanes are 1 foot wide. I know that is wide but it is much easier to design that way. I think maybe 8 inches would do okay on the straights and 10-12 inches for the curves. What track widths would you say would be good for bit charges with 2.2 or maybe some booster cars with 2.8's. The most cars I would run on it would be 2. If anyone has any ideas on track designs (especially city tracks) or track widths I would appreciate it if you would post them.

what program did you use to design your track?

Anyway, this is a design I made a while ago it's a bit larger then the space you need, but I guess you could scale it down a bit.
It has:

-Nascar type oval track on outside
-A drag strip
-Road Course (could also be a rally track if coated with sandpaper or glued down sand)

I highly recommend you work in two straightaways that go the full six feet, just so you can get the feeling of speed.

I was thinking of making an oval, with an inside area that squirms around (poor wording but you get my meaning) for a track I'm building over the next few weeks.

i.e. you could race just on the oval/outside track for high-speed races, but when you wanted road-course/rally style, you could maybe move a piece of foamboard or whatever to turn one of the straightaways into a sort of "feeder" for the inside part, and then back out again.

It's an idea that's been in my head for a while, and I just now started picking up the resources for it.

I'll post a few layouts over the next few days to give you an idea (I'll probably do it in the track forum).

I don't think I have enough space for that kind of thing. Plus, I kinda want to make and open thing that I can just add barriers to if I wanted to make a real track. This would let me change the track very easily and keep me from being bored racing myself.

4'x6' is pretty small. I would keep it really simple. I also wouldn't use overpasses, as you don't have enough room to make the slope gradual enough that the cars won't get stuck on it, or high enough that the antennas won't cause a problem.

Something like this works great. It's not fancy or complex, but if you're serious about racing with other people, you want to spend as little time as possible recovering from crashes or hitting walls.

Yes, I know simple is better because of the size but I am mostly going to be racing against myself and I don't want to get bored. That is why I want to do an open layout.
