Ideas on how to increase steering power

Hi everybody!

I have some questions about increasing steering power and decreasing bump steer for off road Bits.

I'v seen that people do add return springs to improve centering with bigger tires. Can the stock magnet over come multiple return springs?

When you multi cell does power increase to the steering as well as the motor? As far as I know the current to the steering is controlled differently so I don't know if performance will improve there too.

Has anyone tried dual magnets or dual steering coils? Could either work?

Can you fet the steering as well as the motor?

Has anyone tried converting to a bit motor for steering? Is there enough current to the steering coils to run a motor?

Yes, the stock magnet can overcome many steering springs or you can upgrade to a rare earth magnet whick is stronger.

When you multicell you do get more power to the steering.

I do not know of anyone running dual magnets but I think some people have made their own coils to make them stronger.

I don't think you can fet the steering on bits although I think it is possible on zzse's.

I have only seen 1 bit with motor steering and that is the one in bit science right now. Their are clones that use motors for steering and the steering is stronger than regular bit setup.

Hope this helps!!

Actually, you can fet mod the steering, but it doesn't make a huge difference in performance. Click the link in my sig that says "MicroAmps FET mods" for the link to that site.

Thanks for the replies guys!

When the truck is running I will surely post pics. It does run right now but not with enough power. I'll be receiving some 4.2 motors and 200 mha batteries next week.

I think that should get things moving!

Thanks for the tip on the motorized steering in bit science. I'm also going to get one of the Tomicas with semi propo that are probably like the ZZ SE.

Ok, great. Like I said, some rare earth magnets will help your steering a lil bit. Also, microspeed is right and if you send your car to microamps he will fet your steering and drive fets for $35. Be sure to put up pics.
