Paint mod project for my new BitCharG Skyline

Okay... I'll keep it simple...

Just got an official Bit Char G from Japan (skyline) and want to paint it (it came clear). What can I use?

Was thinking about going with nail polish colors and a sealer. What is recommended? Is the above okay?

Thanks in advance for your help.

-slippers2k

p.s. got a 45 mhz skyline with changeable speed. Man... and I thought the imitation bitcharg I bought at the Allentown fair was cool... this one is faster!

Plasti Kote

I have found that Plasti-kote brand "Odds n ends" spray paint works better than testors model paint.

It seems to run much less and dries to touch in about 10 minutes. The short can can be got at Wal Mart for 1.96.

Quite a few basic colors available.

This is just my experience though, but a thought..

paint tips

I had some old paint left over from one of my 1:10 scale touring car bodies, so i decided to try it out on one of my skyline bodies. Keep in mind this stuff gets sprayed on the underside of the body. the paint costs around $5 a can but it looks very nice and wont scrape off if tou slam your car into a coffe table. if you would like to take a look at my car it is called my project skyline. it is located here:
http://groups.msn.com/MicroRC/bitchargpics.msnw

Check the documents page under Bit Char-G tips for step by step instructions.

Part 1: Metallic Blue paint job

Boom... 1 coat of paint on, we will be working on more, and a sealer.

I am surprised my BitCharG kit did not come with a spoiler for the Skyline. Oh well... in lieu of a factory spoiler, what have you guys made spoilers and wings out of? What seems to work the best/worst?

Thanks again for all your help.

Definitely TOMY

Yup, fer sure! TOMY Bit Char G, official stuff. Tomy written on the bottom of the bit, pretty official boxes too.

Doesn't matter... I may *keep* it spoilerless, or I will craft a custom wing for it... maybe something like an Impreza 2.5RS wing. Shouldn't be too bad.

Definitely thinking about going with a 2 tone paint scheme for my other R34 bit - probably black lines on white would be best. And DEFINITELY making sure the headlights and taillights look cool too. Possibly also painting the rims, but I want to make sure the wheel stays chromed. Racer black rims, anyone?
