Making skirts, spoilers, etc.? And a paint job?

Can anybody give me the type of putty I should use for skirts and spoilers. Somebody I heard said Tamiya but I looked and there is like 5 different kinds and I dont know what kind to get. Any help would be great.

Also does anybody know how to get the color change effect for a paint job? What colors and which colors to put on first?

Thanks

Yeah, i was a big styrene fan, but there are just some things you can't do with it. Yeah, you can make wings and basic body kits, but nothing detailed... so i'm off to buy some Tamiya putty tomorrow to get to work on kitting my 350z

im new but i think i know how just make it out of cardboard and if u have THIK! card board u can have a groove in it to have a good look but then PAINT or it wont look right O and for paint use a DARK color ONCE and then use a color that is the same color only a little liter if u wont say a yellow use a DARK YELLOW then USE A YELLOW ! u can for lights use tape and cover the light part and glass and ummm any where else for a good look but if u put to much tap just get a SMALL paint brush and use LITTLE paint near the light and glass part

The plastic from a zip zap package is what most people use , also old credit or bank cards. Styrene is good , I just use what is close at hand.

Okay, i've determined that there are somethings best left to being done with styrene instead of putty.
