Lightbulb new type of 'boost'

i have just thought of this and i was woundering if it would work. the light kit slot puts of a fair abouynt of volts, right? then can i wire the slot to the motor to get an extra 'boost'? i am not great at electrical things, so i really wouldent know the consequenes. if this would work it would be a very big boost!(i think)

The only probelm I can see is that the CLLK doesn't draw too many amps. You could run the risk of burning out a component on the board because the motor draws a lot more amps than the CLLK.

You could try but the stock wires would have to be replaced. Also you would need a back flow protection circuit so power doesn't flow backwards. Maybe worth a try. I also think there are two surface mount resistors going to the CLLK restricting current to about 20mA.

yes it would work the only problem is if you directly hook it it will constantly run the motor ass soon as you turn it on youd need something to hold it till you push the throtle.it will run the motor kind of slow though because the lights shine regular then get brighter whe you accelerate or brake so if you solve that problem then it will work and guys who said no it will be giving double current but this is similar to what somebody has already thought of exept they werent going to use the cllk port they were goingto completly wire it externally but still good idea

correct me if i am wrong, but i thought the lights on went on when the trigger is pressed. therefore it wouldn't always run. (i dont know if they always are on because i dont have them)

the lights are always on but they get brighter when you push the accelerator, brakes, or reverse. when the brakes are applied all lights come on.

He's right. If you want more power, just don't install the light kit to begin with. You wouldn't be magically making more power by tapping off of the light socket, you'd just be diverting the power that would normally be taking the lower resistance path to the motor and running it through the high-resistance path through the light socket. If nothing blows up as a result, the best case scenario is that your car will go slower.

who said i was going to try it, it was just an idea. i was asking if it would work, and if it would have it would have been alot more power. but , since it wont then i wount try it. i am not stupid.

but what about this my fellow x-mod friends..........

i have been thinking about this concept and mod too and here's what i came up with.

first you can tap into the light socket as it does dirrect current from the batteries, but dont send it right to the motor that would be like using no lights

so what you do is wire a capactor with alot of storage in parallel to the motor so the light socket is charging the cap. then when it fills up the cap or the car is under alot of strain it will pull some more stored power acting as a boost.

well thats how i thought it would work

just my $.02

the only problem with that is that the cap will be contantly charging since the lights are always on. so if you sit in one spot for a while the car on and TX on the car will jump on its own.
