Lowering issue
Well, I tried lowering my 350z body today. Didn't go quite as well as i hoped. I didn't want to cut the chasis and use the 'tab lowering" method, so i used a dremel and a etching bit to make new "slots" in the body (but not all the way through so that it wouldn't show on the outside). Well, the back lowered really well, but I couldnt' get it to go very low in the front. Here's the before and after pics:

Now the only way i could get the front to sit nice an low like that was to remove this piece:
but now it won't steer! So when i put that piece back in the front sits at stock height, but the back sits nice and low. (not a bad compramize) I think because of the curve of the rear of the body (above the license plate), and the lack of height of the front bumpter, that the body is too short to accomidtate lowering it any more. If anyone has any ideas on making the front sit a bit lower, i'd appreciate it! I'm about to do a dual cell mod to this latter this week (or whenever i get the other cells), and then make a body kit and some underbody lights too! That said, what is the best way to paint the body kit? I like the color of the car as it is (so i won't be painting the car, just the kit). And what kind of paint do you recomend?

I have had good luck getting The front a bit lower by using the red suspension bars for bits and microsizrers (from the drift axle set). That z car body doesn't lower much. Also, using the smaller bit front wheels and tires all the way around gets it pretty low.

Do you have suspension?..Coz if you do remove the two suspension springs and then it will sit so low,it will nearly touch the floor...Trust me.. look:

Bend the white plastic so it doesn't touch the knuckles at top height. When you put it down, both knuckles go up and lower. Only do this a little bit, because as you discovered, if it's at full travel, part of the knuckle catches on the side and it does not turn.
